The Bachelor of Criminal Justice program at Charles Sturt University will teach you how to be a leader in your community and in your chosen criminal justice field. 


Throughout this degree, you'll gain theory and practical knowledge about prisons, people, and crime from historical and contemporary viewpoints. 


Also, you'll learn how to work in the midst of disagreement and how to understand how various groups approach the same problem from vastly different angles. 


This bachelor's degree will prepare you to be a changemaker in a range of communities, including law enforcement, corrections, juvenile justice, victims of crime and their families, and people on probation and parole.

What you will Study

The students receive 192 points (equivalent to 24 subjects). Before choosing electives based on their personal and/or professional interests, students take core sociology, psychology, politics, criminology, and law courses.

Program Structure

The program consists of 19 core subjects and 5 electives:


  1. three restricted electives subjects at a minimum (24 points)

  2. Unrestricted electives are allowed in two disciplines (16 points).

Admission Requirements 

Entry Requirement

CSU's Admissions Policy: Applicants for the Bachelor of Criminal Justice (Honours) must meet the following admission requirements:


* A 5.0 GPA is required for a Bachelor's degree (or AQF equivalent) in Criminal Justice, Justice Studies, Criminology, or a related discipline (7-point scale).


OR


* A 5.0 GPA is required for a Bachelor's degree (or AQF equivalent) in Criminal Justice, Justice Studies, Criminology, or a related discipline (7-point scale).

English Language Requirements

Minimum CSU English Language Proficiency Requirements apply.

Tuition Fee:

The Australian government covers the cost of tuition for this program. The remaining debt is the student's responsibility. Charles Sturt University's fees are current.
