The Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) program at CQUniversity is an entry-level program that is typically completed in four years. You can obtain professional registration through this programme, which is overseen in Queensland by the Queensland College of Teachers.

The Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) includes 105 days of planned teaching practice in schools and other learning venues and an optional 20 days diploma practicum - 15 of which must be spent with birth to 35-month-olds.
You must spend 15 days with birth-to-35-month-olds. This 15-day placement satisfies Australian Children's Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) criteria that students spend at least 15 days with birth-to-35-month-olds.
Each year of the course structure includes professional practice blocks, and each of the 32 units offers many possibilities to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.
Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care is embedded in the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood).
After completing 9 first-year modules and the diploma practicum and responsibilities, you'll obtain an interim diploma. The course format recognizes prior learning. Diploma holders may be eligible for 6 units.
The Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) includes a specialty in English. If selected, students in the Rockhampton Diocese can specialize in Catholic Education to teach at a Catholic school.
CQUniversity offers postgraduate programmes for registered teachers who have completed the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood).
Before graduating, students in this programme must pass the National Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students (ITE). Australian Council of Education Research administers LANTITE nationally (ACER).
Course structure:
To get a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood), you have to finish 32 units, including 26 core units and six specialized units that meet the requirements of the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50113) for early childhood educators.

To be able to go on a WIL placement for this course, you must have the COVID-19 vaccination. Before a WIL placement, students will have to show proof that they have finished a COVID-19 vaccination schedule by the closing date.
The vaccine given to you must be one that has been approved by Australia's Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
Subject Requirements:
English (Units 3 and 4) C or equivalent; and
General Math, Math Methods, or Specialist Math (Units 3 and 4) C or the equivalent; and
General Science subject (Units 3 & 4, C) or Psychology (Units 3 & 4, C)
English Language Proficiency Requirements:
If you were not born in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland, or the United States of America, you must meet the University's requirements for English Language Proficiency.
Applicants must show proof that they have done the following within the last 5 years:
A secondary education (Years 11 and 12, or the equivalent), or
at least one year of full-time study at the bachelor's level with a GPA of at least 4.0.
completed in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, or the US, which will meet the English proficiency requirement.
If you don't meet any of the above requirements, you will need to take the International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic) test and get a score of at least 7.5 overall, with at least 7.0 in Reading and Writing and 8.0 in Speaking and Listening.
The results of an English test are valid for no more than two years between the date of the last test and the first day of school, and they must be written on a single result certificate.
