The Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) covers clinical, developmental, biological, cognitive, social, and organizational psychology in depth. The Honours year is a supervised research and study program for Griffith University and other accredited educational institution graduates who fulfill the requirements. 


This program allows students to build on their undergraduate knowledge and experience while also training them to do research as part of their preparation for postgraduate studies at this and other universities. It also offers first-year training to psychologists interested in working in Australia.

What you will learn?

You will receive personalized support as an international student from the time you arrive in Australia until you depart after graduation. You will be introduced to Griffith during an orientation session and will get ongoing social, personal, and academic support throughout your degree. An additional year of study at the Gold Coast or Mt Gravatt campus is required for Honours.

Admissions Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in psychological science or an equivalent degree with a 5.0 GPA in core second and third-year courses

Career Opportunities:

Bachelor of Psychological Science graduates are equipped for careers in counseling, guidance, health management, social research, human services, and social welfare, among other related fields. 


You might be able to get a postgraduate degree in speech pathology, social work, rehabilitation counseling, forensic mental health, criminology and criminal justice, human services, mental health practice, disability studies, health research, or business research.


Psychological science graduates work in a wide range of professions and enterprises, including community corrections, business as performance and workforce managers and occupational psychologists, marketing, law enforcement and the military, and schools as guidance officers.


To practice psychology in Australia, you must be registered with the Psychology Board of Australia. To be eligible for registration, you must complete the Bachelor of Psychological Science with Honours.


You'll be eligible for associate membership in the Australian Psychological Society as well as provisional registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia as an honours graduate. 


To complete full registration, you must complete two more years of approved postgraduate study or supervised practice (on-the-job training) with a licensed psychologist.

Professional Acknowledgement:

As a graduate of the Bachelor of Psychological Science degree, you will be eligible for Affiliate Membership in the Australian Psychological Society. You must complete further coursework to be eligible for provisional registration as a Psychologist.
