The Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Honours) program builds on your undergraduate studies of how and why people think, feel, and act the way they do. The course will assist you in understanding the complexities of human behavior as well as the professional, ethical, and societal contexts in which psychology is studied and practiced.

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Honours) program builds on your undergraduate studies of how and why people think, feel, and act the way they do. 


The course will assist you in understanding the complexities of human behavior as well as the professional, ethical, and societal contexts in which psychology is studied and practiced. 


As part of this course, you will also complete an independent research project, which will be written as a thesis and may lead to publication. This course has received full approval from the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council.


After completion, you will be eligible for provisional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, allowing you to apply for the Master of Clinical Psychology program.

What you will Study:

  1. Learn more about how to evaluate and treat people psychologically, as well as about ethics and research.

  2. Execute a one-on-one research project that will culminate in a thesis.

  3. Develop a thorough understanding of psychology as a profession.

  4. You will be eligible for provisional registration and admission to master's programs in clinical psychology and other fields of professional practice after finishing a fully recognized program.

Admission Requirements:

The application deadlines for this course are different from the deadlines for UC applications. For a semester 1 start, applications must be received by the 31st of October, and for a semester 2 start, applications must be received by the 30th of June.


In order to be considered for admission, applicants must meet the following criteria:


A) A qualified psychology degree recognized by the Australian Psychological Accreditation Council (APAC) or equivalent* completed within the last ten years. One of the following degrees can be used as a qualifying degree:


  1. A three-year undergraduate psychology program

  2. There is a Graduate Diploma program for those with a bachelor's degree in another subject


B) An APAC-mandated credit average in second and third-year psychology units or graduate diploma modules.


The admissions process is extremely competitive. To rank applications, the grade point average  (GPA) in the APAC-required second and third-year psychology/graduate diploma disciplines is used. As a result, to be considered for a position, a GPA higher than the minimum is frequently required.


* Equivalency is determined by the Australian Psychological Society (APS)

English Language Requirements

An IELTS Academic score of 6.5 overall, with no band score below 6.0 (or equivalent).

Based on the tuition of 33,500 Australian dollars for a one-year study.
