Both the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care CHC30113 and the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care CHC30121 are prerequisites for the new diploma.


Enroll in CHC30113, the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care program, and finish it by 2023 to be prepared to begin CHC50121, the Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care program.

Delivery methods:

Full time Group: A 240-hour workplace requirement applies to this course. During this placement, students must interact directly with kids for seven hours every day.


Industry Group: You can work with a variety of age groups during your placement hours in your own business.

Prerequisites are:

  • Possess a certificate of current competence in early childhood education and care.

  • Be employed a minimum of two days per week in an early learning program that is registered.

Assessment Methods:

Each competency will be evaluated using a mix of tasks that are completed both on the job (practicum) and off the job. Off-the-job evaluation combines written tasks, practical demonstrations, and class activities.

Entry Requirements:

Academic: Australian Year 12 Equivalent


English: Academic IELTS 5.5 with no sub-scores below 5.0, Pearson PTE Academic 42 overall with no sub-scores below 36 for communicative skills, or a recognized equivalent


Other: Applicants are required to submit a 300-500 word statement explaining any experience in child care (voluntary, informal, or paid) and their motivations for pursuing this course.


You must supply a Working with Children Check (WWC) and a criminal background check.

Career Pathways:

You may seek employment in the field of children's services, caring for infants and toddlers up to the age of six in a range of child care settings, upon completion of this program. For private clients, jobs include room leader, center coordinator, and nanny.
