This qualification shows what an enrolled nurse does when they work under the watch of a registered nurse. This qualification covers how to use the skills and knowledge needed to help people in all areas of the health sector as a nurse.
Enrolled Nurses can work in all areas of hospital care, primary health care settings, nursing homes for the elderly, operating rooms, the community nursing sector, mental health, and a wide range of other places.
You will have gained a lot of skills and knowledge in a clinical setting, as well as in critical thinking, research, and care based on evidence. These are all important skills for getting into the nursing field.
If you have a Diploma of Nursing from a programme that is approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), you can apply to become an enrolled nurse with the NMBA.
This degree can also be used to get into a bachelor's programme in nursing. Students might be able to start the second year of a three-year degree right away and work as an EN while finishing the degree.
