Entry Requirements

We want you to succeed while you are a student at TAFE NSW. We can ensure that you have the necessary prior knowledge and abilities to earn your desired certificate by checking your entry criteria. You must present proof that you match the criteria specified in this section.


When applying to this programme, there are 4 considerations to make:


  • You must provide proof that you meet the English Language Skills (ELS) registration requirement set by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), declare that English is your first language, and/or provide a valid ELS test result in order to register. Before enrolling with TAFE NSW, you must satisfy the NMBA English language requirements.

  • You must provide proof that you have finished HSC/Year 12 (or an equivalent programme) or a Certificate III certification in order to prove that you meet the academic entry requirements (or above).

  • A RU Ready / Basic and Key Skills Builder (BKSB) assessment is required. Details about how to do this will be supplied during the application process by your local TAFE NSW campus. You must obtain English language and math results that are at or above Exit Level 3.
