What you will Study

Program Structure

24 units of credit (UOC). The entire curriculum is made up of coursework: Six UOC are awarded for each of the four lecture courses.

Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements

To be admitted to this program, students must meet the following requirements:


  1. To have a bachelor's degree in mathematics or a bachelor's degree in science with a math or statistics major; and


  1. To have a solid mathematical and/or statistical foundation, as demonstrated by a grade of 65 or higher in university-level mathematics and/or statistics courses.

English Language Requirements

Depending on your educational experience and citizenship, you may be required to provide confirmation of your English ability in order to enroll at UNSW.


If you're studying for an Australian Year 12 certificate, you don't need to provide any additional evidence of your ability (e.g. NSW HSC or equivalent). Your diploma will be used to show that you are proficient in English.


Your application will contain proof of English proficiency if it is required. If you can demonstrate that you meet at least one of the following criteria, you may do so:


  1. English language examinations and universities English courses

  2. Prior English language schooling is also a requirement.
