Graduates of degree programs can become early childhood teachers after getting a graduate diploma from VU. With Victoria's 3-year-old kindergarten program growing, this course makes you a great candidate for a job as a kindergarten teacher.
You can take this course online if you live in Australia or if you don't need a student visa to study at VU.
You will study units that focus on children from birth to age five. You will learn how to include children and families as capable members of the learning process.

Entry Requirements:
Completion of an Australian Bachelor's degree or an equivalent degree from another country in any field. Applicants with a Bachelor's degree from a country other than Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, or the Republic of Ireland will have to take IELTS: Overall, 7.0, with 7.5 for listening, 6.5 for reading, 6.5 for writing, and 7.5 for speaking.

Applicants from Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, or the Republic of Ireland who have at least a 3-year Bachelor's degree will not have to take IELTS.
Learning outcomes:
1. Start teaching and learning methods that encourage student engagement in complex situations and put Aboriginal points of view at the forefront of early childhood education.
2. Do a critical review of the different ways of knowing, being, and doing things that are based on the idea that children and their families are able to help make conceptual and pedagogical decisions about learning and teaching.
3. Come up with ways to teach that show students how to put things in context, ask questions, resist, rethink, and act for equity and the public good.
4. Show a wide range of knowledge about early childhood pedagogy, curriculum, and assessment in relation to how education is changing in a world that is changing quickly.
5. Evaluate, adapt, and show how to use a variety of oral and written communication techniques to connect with and engage learners, their parents/caregivers, and the larger community.
6. Make learning opportunities that include a rich and varied curriculum, making sure that learning and teaching methods are based on good ethical principles and that early childhood settings encourage mutually beneficial relationships.
