A Graduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science program is available at Hobart for one year. Part-time study for two years is feasible. Graduates will be knowledgeable in pharmaceutical sciences and have strong communication skills in both writing and speaking.

Program Structure

The majority of the curriculum is based on currently available undergraduate pharmacy courses and includes lectures, tutorials, practicals, assignments, and research projects. Although there won't be much online content at first, it is hoped that it will eventually increase.

1. Demonstrate your understanding of the many stages of drug discovery and development, from discovering interesting molecules to conducting clinical trials.

2. Demonstrate your familiarity with key topics for research and application in the field of pharmaceutical sciences, such as medicinal chemistry, physical chemistry, molecular pharmacology, and pharmacotherapy.

3. Demonstrate your familiarity with the structure, methods, data analysis, and ethics of pharmaceutical research.

4. Possess the ability to formulate ideas, develop experiments to test them, and understand the scientific method.

5. Understand the complete drug discovery and development process, beginning with the identification of interesting molecules and ending with clinical trials.
