This Murdoch University Education (Research) MEd program is for educators who desire to broaden and deepen their knowledge, pursue professional growth and renewal, or achieve a higher degree.


In this research-classified course, you will complete a research dissertation (24 points) as well as homework (12 points). 


This course will provide you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to improve your teaching, leadership, and/or administrative positions in the field of education. After receiving this qualification, you will be entitled to enroll in a PhD program.

Admission Requirements

The following qualifications are required for an application for admission as a candidate for a Master of Education (Research):


  • A Bachelor's degree in education (AQF level 7) or equivalent, as well as evidence of scholarly or professional achievements relevant to the proposed research discipline, as evaluated by the Graduate Research Manager;


  • A Bachelor's degree in a different discipline (AQF level 7) and completion of a graduate course in Education, or equivalent, requiring at least one year of full-time study (AQF level 8) and evidence of scholarly or professional accomplishments relevant to the proposed research discipline to the Graduate Research Manager;


  • To satisfy the Graduate Research Manager, you must have a Bachelor's degree in a different area and evidence of substantial academic or professional accomplishments (of at least two years full-time duration or equivalent) in education equivalent to AQF level 8.

English Language Requirements

You must have a minimum level of English proficiency to study at Murdoch, which can be demonstrated through English proficiency exams, university preparation courses, English language courses, previous tertiary studies, or vocational education.
