The Master of History (Advanced) degree offers the theoretical groundwork and hands-on experience required for the advanced study of history, as well as the flexibility to design a program specifically to meet your interests. If you are a secondary school teacher, you can focus on selecting topics from the national history curriculum.

What you will study
Program Structure
This degree includes a significant amount of study and has received AQF Level 9 accreditation. The following must be included in the required 72 units for the Master of History (Advanced):
36 units of credit are required to complete the history courses.
Discipline courses must be completed in 12 more units of credit.
24 units of credit are required for thesis courses.

Admission Requirements
All applicants must, at the very least, meet the English language requirements as well as the academic and nonacademic requirements for each program. Admission to the majority of ANU programs is competitive. So, fulfilling all entry requirements does not guarantee acceptance.
A relevant Bachelor's degree or its foreign equivalent, with a minimum GPA of 6/7, and a thesis or research project that has been authorized by a designated supervisor.
