The Master of Research program at Victoria University will personalize your course work to your academic background. You will gain crucial knowledge of project design and research ethics. After that, you'll either study further research techniques or a discipline-related topic related to your research. Once you've finished the units with a passing grade of 70% and selected a topic that interests you, you'll begin your own research.
Here, you can complete a Master of Research degree in any field in 18 months. Graduates with an honors degree in a different field of study or a related bachelor's degree are eligible for this program.

Program Structure
The following tasks must be completed by students in order to earn a Master of Research, including:
A minimum of 70% in required coursework is required, or approval for advanced standing in the unit is required
A Research Thesis Unit, and their thesis has been approved by the Dean of Graduate Research (or nominee)
Learning Outcomes
Through the new Master of Research program at VU, students have the opportunity to begin and complete a masters-level research project with guidance (AQF 9). This will be done by offering students first-semester modules on a) the research process and b) disciplinary specialities, if needed.
For research, professional practice, and/or further education, graduates at AQF level 9 will be knowledgeable and proficient in a specialized topic and will be able to:
Analyze a body of knowledge critically that includes knowledge of current trends in one or more fields.
Advanced knowledge of research methods and ideas that are pertinent to the field of study or work
Analyze, evaluate, and critically think about how theoretical knowledge is applied to the chosen topic.
Develop advanced cognitive, technical, and creative skills to explore, evaluate, and synthesize complex issues, concepts, and theories and to apply them to other fields of study or activity.
Develop high-level cognitive, technical, and creative abilities to create and evaluate complex ideas and concepts at an abstract level.
Examine, critique, and apply the cognitive and technical skills required to design, implement, and evaluate research and research methods.
Enhance the technical and communication skills to deliver research findings to expert and non-specialized audiences.
Demonstrate the technical and communication skills needed to design, appraise, conduct, analyze, theorize, and distribute research.

Admission Requirements
Entry Requirements
Completion of an Australian bachelor's degree (or a degree of equal standing) in the same discipline with a final-year average grade of distinction (or an equivalent).
Completion of an Australian Bachelor's degree with honors (or a degree of a similar kind) in a different discipline, with a grade point average of Distinction (or equivalent).
