The Master of Visualization, Simulation, and Immersive Design program will prepare you to be a future visionary design leader. From here, you'll graduate with the knowledge and abilities needed to understand and meet the growing need for immersive approaches across a wide range of industries.


Also, you'll be encouraged to work on specific industry-related issues in your field, which will be tailored to your interests and career goals.


This program is designed for working professionals and is offered as a low-residency option. Here, you'll take core classes online and meet up in person twice a year, either on campus or at industry partner sites. 


Also, you will have full access to all campus facilities throughout your studies. Elective courses are available entirely online as well as in person.

What you will study

This program places a strong emphasis on human perception and experience, as well as a human-centric and design-led approach to technology. Here, you'll discover how to make the most of simulation and immersive platforms like virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR). 


You'll gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology while studying real-world industry case studies and global thought leaders throughout the program.

Program Structure


Students must complete 24 UOC as a standalone program.


  1. Core Courses- Students must take at least 12 UOC 

  2. Prescribed Electives- Students must take at least 12 UOC

Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree with a 65 WAM equivalent to be accepted into the program. Admission will not be dependent on obtaining a degree in the creative disciplines because the program's purpose is to teach practitioners from a range of industries how to combine visualization, simulation, and immersive environments into their own work environments.

English Language Requirements


  1. IELTS: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); 

  2. TOEFL IBT (Internet Based): 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, 22 in listening, and speaking);

  3. C1 Advanced Cambridge: 176 overall (min. 169 in each subtest);

  4. C2 Proficiency Cambridge: 180 overall (min. 180 in each subtest);

  5. UNSW Global University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component.
